The burden of oral disease poses a global public health challenge. In this dynamic experts led session, we will explore case presentations to identify patients at-risk of gingivitis and dive deep into the science behind mouthrinses within a complete oral care regimen. Attendees will gain clinically and practically relevant evidence based insights to help dispel common misconceptions and confidently engage in preventive care education to drive enhanced patient outcomes.
 

In this webinar you will:

  • Understand the disheartening global burden of oral disease, further underscoring the importance of prevention. Explore leading dental health organizations' recommendations and guidelines for personalized preventive care approaches.
  • Engage in interactive case presentations to identify patients at-risk for gingivitis and explore practical, preventive strategies for effective at-home oral care.
  • Dive into recent evidence of at home oral care regimens including how mouthrinse when combined with mechanical measures, such as brushing and flossing, can meaningfully reduce plaque and control gingivitis outcomes.
  • Uncover common misconceptions and explore through conversation the importance of practicing evidence based dentistry when confounded with new information.
     

Speakers:
Dr. Kim Milleman currently owns and operates Salus Research in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Salus Research has received the ADA Seal of Acceptance for Independent Research Testing Site Qualification. She has authored/co-authored 75 peer-reviewed publications and over 200 scientific presentations at American and International dental conferences around the world. During the span of her 25 year career, she has conducted over 450 human clinical trials in China, the US and Guatemala and sits on several domestic and international advisory boards for product device formulation and development. Her research focuses on a wide array of intraoral specialties.

Dr. Kumar C. Shah is a Professor of Clinical Dentistry at UCLA and a Board-Certified Prosthodontist and Maxillofacial Prosthodontist. He earned his dental degree from the National University of Singapore, followed by a Master’s and Certificate in Prosthodontics from The Ohio State University, and advanced fellowship training at UCLA. Dr. Shah has directed several key UCLA programs, leading clinical education in restorative, surgical, and implant dentistry. A Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, he is also a Fellow of the Academy of Prosthodontics, the American College of Prosthodontists, and ITI. He co-edited a textbook on dental implant therapy and serves on the Editorial Review Board of the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry. Dr. Shah lectures internationally and is an active peer reviewer for leading dental journals.
