Before starting your own business, it is vital to understand key financial concepts. You will learn the role of finance in business success including how finance supports decision-making, growth, and sustainability as well as how to balance risk and reward in financial planning. The main financial statements will be reviewed in addition to creating a business budget and financial forecasting.

Speaker: 
Lena Scunziano is the Executive Director of Finance for the Healthcare Specialty Group at Henry Schein. In her role, she is responsible for the consolidation of more than 25 businesses, with product sales totaling more than $1B. She oversees all finance operations and is the strategic business partner to the HSG leadership team, driving financial performance related to long-term goals. She is responsible for budgets and forecasts as well as performance versus these targets. Prior to joining Henry Schein, Lena held leadership roles at Broadridge Financial Solutions and Adecco. Lena received both Undergraduate and MBA degrees from Dowling College, and is currently a CPA candidate.
