Stress looks different on everyone, so it can be hard to recognize, and bearing stress feels different for everyone. So, it’s important to know what you can do to handle overwhelming situations and manage your own stress with self-care, too. Spend an hour with Jen McGowan-Tomke, MPH, CEO of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Chicago, as she explains tools and strategies to understand how stress looks, feels and how to de-escalate when stress becomes overwhelming. She’ll also cover the justification and importance of self-care as a preventive measure to maintain a healthy relationship with yourself.

Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize what stress looks and feels like.
  • Describe and utilize tools for de-escalation.
  • Explain the importance of self-care after stress and as a preventive measure.
