Course Description: The Empowering You webinar series is a business development and entrepreneurship program designed specifically for dental hygienists at every stage of their journey—from those who have never considered entrepreneurship, to those exploring the idea, to those ready to grow an existing venture. This step-by-step series provides a practical, “how-to” roadmap focused on building real-world skills in branding, marketing, financial management, and communication. Participants will gain the confidence and tools needed to create new opportunities, generate additional income, and take control of their professional future. After completion you will earn a Certificate in Business Development & Entrepreneurship.

Learning Objectives:

• Describe the foundational elements of building an entrepreneurial career, including practical first steps to get started.
• Identify essential skills for business success, including marketing, communication, financial awareness, and relationship-building.
• Explore opportunities to generate income beyond clinical practice through entrepreneurial pathways.
• Recognize effective digital marketing strategies, including websites, reviews, social media, and clear calls-to-action, to increase visibility and engagement.
• Explain how branding and positioning can attract opportunities and support dental client growth.
• Describe the key components of starting and managing a sharpening business, including purpose, workflow, scheduling, client management, and retention.
• Discuss ways to support and educate dental professionals to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
