Course Description: This course is designed to review opportunity to minimize risk of litigation on dental providers. Learn to manage risk well with best clinical, education and documentation processes.

Learning Objectives:

  • List contract principles important to the provider/patient relationship in clinical care situations.
  • Describe tort concepts, including intentional torts, negligence, and abandonment, as it relates to delivering oral health care services.
  • Explain the importance of informed consent, informed refusal and guidelines for documentation.
  • Outline risk management strategies for the dental team.
