1. Teamwork and Collaboration

Presented by: Amanda Berthiaume, MsDH, RDH, CDA, FADHA

Course Description: This module focuses on building effective teams within dental and interprofessional settings. Participants explore how communication styles influence teamwork, what to do when clashes occur, and how to foster a culture of respect, accountability, and collaboration. Through self-assessment, discussion, and simulated scenarios, students will identify their own communication preferences, evaluate team dynamics, and develop strategies to improve patient care outcomes through teamwork.

2. Conflict to Collaboration: Finding Solutions in the Clinic

Presented by: Kelli Swanson Jaecks, MA, RDH, FADHA

Course Description: Conflict is part of life. Whether it be in the clinic with co-workers and clients, around a zoom board meeting, or in our personal spaces, conflict is unavoidable. We all respond to conflict differently; some of us avoid it, some run right into it, and some see the problem but don’t know how to resolve it. Big emotions often accompany conflict- fear, confusion, anger, shame. No one wants to be stuck there. How do we turn conflict into an opportunity for growth and find new ways forward? The good news is there are clear strategies and communication practices that can help us navigate towards agreement and workable solutions.

3. Organization and Attention to Detail

Presented by: Tia S. Meyer, RDH, FADHA

Course Description: This module explores the critical role of organization and attention to detail in dental hygiene practice. Students will learn how structured clinical workflows, intentional preparation, and heightened observational skills contribute to patient safety, clinical accuracy, and overall efficiency. Through real-world examples and practical strategies, learners will gain tools to enhance their performance, reduce stress, and build confidence in delivering high-quality patient care.
